Voicemail

How do I setup my telephone extension’s mail box?

  1. From your extension pickup your handset and dial 6.
  2. Enter first time setup security code “1111”
  3. At this point, you will be required to do three things before the box is active.

    1. Change you security code. (4 digits only) See * note below.
    2. Name of the box.
    3. Greeting you wish others to hear. (There is no need to include instructions to leave the message after the tone as the vm system will prompt the caller to do that.)

It is important when recording a greeting to wait for the voice mail to play back the greeting. If you are happy with it, press 9 and the voice mail will tell you that the change was successful. If you do not hear confirmation at the end of the change, the change did not take effect, or worse, your mail box did not get setup.

You can check your work by dialing your own extension and verifying that all the changes you made actually went into effect.

Be creative when choosing your 4 digit security code. DO NOT USE 1234, or 1111 or 2222 etc.
